J.J. Servaty of Owen was in the city Monday.

Rev. Otto Hensel was at Fairchild on Tuesday.

Mrs. Joe Wright of Merrillan was a business caller here this week.

John Drummond was confined to his home several days last week on account of illness.

Golden Sturgeon of Owen and John Lanneville of Withee were callers here Monday.

Postmaster Upham of Marshfield was a guest at the home of Dr. H.R. Schofield Monday.

Mrs. Stella Mortimer and son George of York Center were guests of Mrs. Celia Norris last week Wednesday.

Mrs. W.E. Cornick of Hayward is a visitor at the home of Mr. and Mrs. F.M. Carter. She arrived Saturday.

Alba Varney came home from Gilman Tuesday morning, having completed the winter's work in the camp he was in.

Mr. and Mrs. W.R. Howard and daughter Beatrice drove in Willard Tuesday afternoon after Ray, who was there unloading hay.

Miss Rose Bushman and father John Bushman of School Hill, Wis. Are visiting at the home of John Bushman in this city. They arrived last week.

Forest Shanks returned to Fond du Lac Saturday.

Mrs. B.A. Johnson and child returned to Fond du lac Thursday.

The Ralph Meek place is for rent. Inquire of E.F. Wollenberg at bank.

The Ladies Aid Society will meet with Mrs. P.W. Gullord Friday afternoon, Feb. 3.

Roy Rossman left yesterday morning for Judith Gap, Montana, to join his uncle, A.L. Rossman.

The King's daughters will meet with Mrs. Geo. Van Voorhis Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 8th.

S.R. Kelley returned to Black River Falls Monday, after visiting over Sunday with his family.

Ralph Meek came up from Fond du Lac Saturday evening and accompanied his family home Monday.

Mrs. Geo. Heggesta returned to Blanchardville, Wis. Saturday morning, after visiting relatives here for a week.

Mrs. M.J. Winter of Black River Falls is visiting with her daughter Mrs. S.R. Kelley. She arrived last week.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Plecity and child came down from Gilman Friday and are visiting with Mrs. Plecity's mother, Mrs. Mary Ann Shanks.

Mrs. Clara Borseth conducted her first cooking school class of eight members, at the home of Mrs. Mary Larson, last Saturday afternoon.

Beatrice Howard returned home from Carroll College, Waukesha, Tuesday morning to accept a position as teacher of one of the schools to town of Reseburg.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Miller and child left Tuesday morning for Fond du Lac, where they will make their home. Morris Anderson has taken Mr. Miller's place on the branch.

John Guth of Racine was in the city and vicinity last week purchasing horses and cows. He returned Saturday taking with him twenty head of dairy cows and two teams on business.

Wednesday evening of last week the Royal Neighbors installed their officers for the ensuing year. The work was done by the local officers. At nine o'clock the husband and friends were admitted for the installation; later a bountiful supper was served and dancing and cards were indulged in. The past oracle, Mrs. Henry Johnson, was presented with an emblem ring in appreciation of last year's work. About eighty were present.

Mrs. Mary Lynch, who was injured by the air ship accident at the State Fair last fall, has begun suit against the members of the State Board of Agriculture for $25,000 damages. It is also said that suit will be brought against the Wright Bros., who owned the machine. Others who were injured may also bring suit. (Republican and Press)

Saturday evening the "Soo" engine jumped the track on the trestle just west of the depot. Some difficulty was encountered in hosting it back on the track.

Mr. and Mrs. Theo. Kinfke and two children of Chicago, arrived a week ago Friday and are visiting with Mrs. Kinfke's parents, Mr. and Mrs. G.F. Braun of the Braun Settlement.

Miss Velma Hartson left Tuesday morning for Chicago, where she expects to study for a trained nurse. She was accompanied by Mrs. H.R. Schwarze, who will join her husband there.

The Beavers and Queens have bills out announcing a masquerade ball at the M.W.A. opera house Friday evening, Feb. 10. Lunch will be served in the hall. For further particulars see large posters.

James Norris and mother left on the Monday morning train for Aberdeen, S.D. Mrs. Norris will remain there with her daughter Agnes, and Jim will return to Tony, Wis., and take charge of the newspaper plant.

Rev. Marsh will exchange places next Sunday with Rev. Kildow of Loyal, who will preach at Longwood and Hemlock at the usual time, and in the evening at Greenwood. In connection with the preaching service at 7:30 he will administer the sacraments.
