Kuester, Alvina (25 April 1883 - 31 March 1970)

Mrs. Alvina Kuester, 86, of Loyal, died Tuesday morning, March 31 at Neillsville Memorial Hospital of complications. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Loyal. The Rev. William Humlie will officiate and burial will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Roycraft Funeral Home at noon Thursday.

Mrs. Kuester was born April 25, 1883, in the Town of Beaver, Clark County. She received her rural education in the Loyal area and lived in the Town of Beaver until her marriage to Fred Kuester at the home of a brother in the Town of Warner, November 11, 1903. He preceded her in death in 1960. They farmed in the Town of Warner until retiring and moving to the city of Loyal in 1944. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors include four daughters, Miss Lilly Kuester of Milwaukee, Norma Ebert of Loyal, Mrs. Tony (Elvera) Briski of Berwyn, Ill., and Mrs. Philip (Elmira) Mattes of Thorp; five sons, Art Kuester of Thorp, Eddie of Greenville, O., George of Greenwood, Elmer of Thorp and Irwin Kuester of Chicago, Ill; 22 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Alvina Kuester, 86, who died March 31 were held Friday at 2 p.m. from the Trinity Lutheran Church in Loyal. The Rev. William Humlie officiated, and burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Jerry Kuester, Donald Mattes, Tom, Vernon and Rick Kuester and Phillip Mattes, Jr. Mrs. Edwin Dux and Mrs. Verland Dux sang, “He Leadeth Me” and “I Need Thee Every Hour,” accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Gladis Olsen.
