Marcella (Goessl) Nuernberger Deeter (26 AUG 1924 - 9 JUL 2013)

Marcella Deeter, 88, Benson, Ariz., died on Tuesday, July 9.

A Mass was held on Saturday, July 20 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Benson. Graveside services followed at Cochise Gardens of Rest in Benson.

Marcella Nurenberger Deeter, 88, Benson, Ariz., died on Tuesday, July 9.

Born to Irving and Theresa Goessl on Aug. 26, 1924 in the Town of Hoard, Wis., Mom passed away peacefully on July 9, 2013 with family by her side.

She was predeceased by husbands John Nuernberger (1972) and Raymond Deeter (1988), her parents, six brothers, two sisters and one grandson.

Sally is survived by children: Deanna Cole, Ruth Kieffer, Sandra (Bill) Barr, Michael (Karen) Nuernberger, Susan MacDonald and step-children: Steve (Maxine) Deeter, Joe Deeter, Tommy (Lisa) Deeter, 22 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by twin sister Mercedes Kapfhamer of Stetsonville, Wis. and Sister Celine Goessl of Greenleaf, Wis.

Sally was a charter member of FOE #3593 in Benson, a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary, and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

She had been a resident of Benson since 1954 and was a retired civil service employee. She was well-known in the area for the beautiful baby blankets she crocheted.

A very special thanks to our wonderful sister, Susan and her daughter Kati for the loving care given to Mom throughout the years. Thanks also to TMC Hospice, and Mary Ann Young.

A Mass will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Benson at 9 a.m. on July 20, 2013, with graveside service to follow at Cochise Gardens of Rest in Benson.
