Petkovsek, Mary (4 August 1893 - 5 May 1970)

Mrs. Frank Petkovsek, 76, of Willard, died last Tuesday in Neillsville following an illness of three weeks. Death was due to bronchial pneumonia.

Funeral services were held Friday from the Hill Funeral Home in Greenwood at 9:30 a.m., and at 10:30 a.m. from the Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard, with Rev. Michael martens officiating. Burial was made in the Holy Family Catholic Cemetery.

Mrs. Petkovsek, the former Mary Jereb, was born in Yugoslavia on August 4, 1893, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jereb. She arrived in the United States in 1912 and was married to Frank Petkovsek in Waukegan, Ill., in 1915. They came to Willard in 1917 and farmed until 1953. Mr. Petkovsek died in January, 1954, and Mrs. Petkovsek lived alone in Willard.

Survivors include two sons, Frank of Greenwood and Joseph of Willard; six grandchildren; and a brother, Jakob Jereb of North Chicago, Ill.

Pallbearers were Robert Herrick, Valentine Yurkovich, Paul Klancher, Charles Herrick, William Petkovsek and Leo Gregorich.

Mrs. Petkovsek was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church.
