Abel, Gustav
(15 OCT 1885– 14 NOV 1975)
Gustav Abel, age 90, of route 3, Greenwood, died at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph’s
Hospital, Friday, November 14.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 17 at 4 p.m. at the Rinka Funeral
Home at Greenwood. The Rev. Logue of
United church of Christ officiated and burial was made in the Greenwood
Cemetery.
Mr. Abel was born October 15, 1885 in the Town of Warner.
He received his education in the Decker School.
He farmed all of his life in the Town of Warner and retired in 1963 and
moved to Greenwood. He was married
on June 22, 1911 at Greenwood to Mary Wehrman who preceded him in death on
January 19, 1967.
He is survived by the following daughters; Mrs. Norman (Selma) Geisler, Owen;
Miss Elsie Abel, Greenwood; and Miss Marcella Abel, Greenwood.
He is also survived by three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Alvin Albert, Gerald Steffen, Kenneth Dyre, Albert Wehrman, Alvin Wehrman and Donald Decker.

Abel, Gustav (15 October 1885 – 14 November 1975)
Gustav Abel, 90, of Greenwood, died Friday, November 14, at a Marshfield
hospital where he had been admitted November 10.
Mr. Abel was born October 15, 1885, in the Town of Warner and received his
education at the Decker School. He farmed all his life in the Town of Warner,
retiring in 1963. In 1964, he moved to Greenwood to live in retirement.
He was married June 22, 1911, in Greenwood to Mary Wehrman, who preceded him in
death in January 1967. He is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Norman (Selma)
Geisler of Owen; Miss Elsie Abel and Miss marcella Abel, both of Greenwood.
Three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were held Monday from the Rinka Funeral Home in Greenwood. The
Rev. David Logue, pastor of Zion United Church of Christ, officiated. Burial was
made in the Greenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Donald Decker, Alvin Albert, Albert Wehrman, Alvin Wehrman,
Gerald Steffen and Kenneth Dyre.
Gary Schultz sang three selections, accompanied by his wife.
