Norman Gilbert Geisler, 88 Owen, died on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000, at the Clark
County Health Care Center, Owen.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., on Wednesday, Dec. 6 at the Maurine
Funeral Home, Owen. Mr. Robert
Ruprich officiated. Burial was in
the Riverside Cemetery, Withee.
Norman Gilbert Geisler was born on July 12, 1912, in the town of Warner, rural
Greenwood, to Adolph and Katherine (nee Kuehn) Geisler.
He married Selma Abel on Sept. 8, 1936, in Greenwood.
They farmed in the town of Warner.
Beginning in 1959, he worked as a custodian at the Owen-Withee School,
retiring in 1978. He enjoyed
hunting, fishing, trapping, woodworking and gardening.
In his younger years, he also worked as a taxidermist.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Selma Geisler, Owen; three daughters,
Evelyn Geisler, Eau Claire, Caroline (James) Hannan, Loyal, and Betty (Brian)
Bushnell, Plymouth; five grandchildren, Peter Hannan, Karan Tarter, Nancy
Edwards, Cheryl Schmidt, and Eric Bushnell; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Maurina Funeral Home, Owen, assisted the family with arrangements.
