Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Elizabeth Carnahan, 78, route 1, Owen, were held Wednesday afternoon, May 12, at 2 p.m. at the Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby.  Sheldon D. Seltzer officiated at the services.

Burial was made in the Colby Memorial cemetery.

Mrs. Carnahan died unexpectedly May 8 at Runnells, Ia., where she and her husband were visiting his brother.

The former Emma Elizabeth Huppert was born at New Athens, Ill., July 26, 1886.  Her marriage to Charles Carnahan took place Aug. 22, 1934, at Rib Lake, and the couple lived on a farm in the town of Green Grove.

She had previously been married to Albert Hansen, who died in May, 1929.

Mrs. Carnahan was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church at Withee.

Besides her husband, she I survived by two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Mildred) Mahoney of Eau Claire and Cleo Carnahan of Stevens Point, and three sons, Max Carnahan of rural Marshfield, Wilford Carnahan of DePere and Delbert Carnahan of Madison.  There are 15 grand children and seven great grand children.
