Pekol, Rose Julia (3 September 1923 - 4 August 2013)

Rose J. Pekol, 89, of Greenwood died at Our Lady of Victory Hospital in Stanley Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013.

Rose Julia Simonelic was born Sept. 3, 1923, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Frank Sr. and Louise (Trinko) Simonelic. She was raised in the Chicago area and married Edward Pekol Oct. 21, 1944. They moved to Willard and later to Greenwood.

She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard. Rose had many interests but especially loved spending time with her family.

Rose will be dearly missed by her children, Rosalie (Charles) Volk of Yellville, AR, Marlene (Donald) Kaczmarek of Withee, Edward Pekol of Greenwood, Robert (Christy) Pekol of Eau Claire; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Louis (Shirley) Simonelic of Las Vegas; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward; sisters Mary and Lillian; and brothers, Paul, John George, Joe, Tony and Frank Simonelic, Jr.

A private burial will take place at a later date. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cuddiefh.com.  Cuddie Funeral Home, of Greenwood, is assisting the family with arrangements.
