Klapatauskas, Mr. and Mrs. Mike (Silver - 19 June 1971)

The Rev. Michael Mertens officiated at the Silver wedding anniversary mass of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Klapatauskas, who renewed their marriage vows during the 8 o’clock mass Saturday evening at Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard.

Miss Diane Klapatauskas of Marshfield was the organist, and Mrs. Bernard Kitzhaber of Greenwood was soloist.

Michael Klapatauskas and Lorraine Kitzhaber were married June 19, 1946, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Greenwood, by the late Rev. J. J. Novak. Attendants were Dolores (Kitzhaber) Cornwell; Frances (Klapatauskas) Vallone; Edward Gregorich, and Erven Hosely.

Mr. and Mrs. Klapatauskas have three children: Ray of Cudahy, Donna Searles of Willard and Diane of Marshfield. They also have on grandchild, James Searles.

Mike and Lorraine farmed on Rt. 3, Thorp until 1950, when they moved to Willard, where Mike was co-owner of the F. & M. Garage for 14 years. He was then employed at the Farmers’ Store in Greenwood until 1968, when he entered the Mobile Home Industry and is presently employed by Dickman Homes, Spencer.

Both are active in parish and community work, and Mrs. Klapatauskas has been town treasurer since 1959.

Festivities included a dance and open house at the West Side Hall.
