Denk, Dorothy (6 AUG 1952)

On Wednesday, Aug. 6, 1952 Miss Dorothy Denk, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Denk Sr., became the bride of Victor C. Wagner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Wagner of Cleveland, Wis. The Rev. Father Edward Hartung officiated at the 10:00 a.m. mass. This was the first wedding mass and ceremony performed in St. Mary's new chapel.

Six brothers of the bride sang the Mass with sister-in-law playing the organ.

White marquisette over satin fashioned the bridal gown. The lace that bordered the yoke on the bodice extended down either side to form a train. A scalloped seed pearl headdress held her veil of silk illusion and she carried a bouquet of American Beauty and white rose buds.

Mrs. Harold Lyon, Phillips, sister of the bride, was the matron of honor. She was tired in a white strapless frock and a cape of net. Blue and white daisies formed her bouquet. The same flowers were used in her headdress.

Her lace bodice topped the net over taffeta skirts worn by the two bridesmaids, Mary Marlborough of Clarks Mills, a cousin of the bride, and Diane Wagner, Sheboygan, a cousin of the groom. Their headdresses and bouquets were like the matron of honor's.

The groom's attendants were Harold Lyon, Phillips, a brother-in-law of the bride and Francis Groit, Cleveland, and Jack Denk, Greenwood, the latter a brother of the bride, were groomsmen.

Helmer Wagner, Cleveland, and Virgil Denk, Alma Center, another brother of the bride, ushered.

A luncheon was served at 11:30 a.m. and a dinner at 5 p.m. in the church hall. A reception was held at the bride's home from 3 to 5 p.m.

The bride, who is employed as receptionist at the Clark Electric Co-op, Greenwood, is a graduate of the Greenwood High School with the class of 1948.

The young couple will reside in Greenwood, where the groom is teaching agriculture at the high school.

Guests at the wedding were from Greenwood, Cleveland, Sheboygan, Clarks Mills, Valders, Reedsville, Marshfield, Phillips, Eau Claire, Alma Center, Loyal and Two Rivers.
