On Saturday, June 6, 1953, Miss Bernelda Noah, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Noah, R. 2, Greenwood, became the bride of Wilton Dale Karlen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Karlen, R. 3, Stanley, at 1:30 p.m. at the West Side Evangelical and Reformed Church. The Rev. Charles Koch, pastor, performed the double ring ceremony before an altar decorated with twin bouquets of lily of the valley and bridal wreath. A basket of orchid iris and bridal wreath in the center and twin baskets of mixed flowers were on the Chancel railing. Net bows and snowballs were tied at the end of the pews.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was attired in a gown of traditional white satin, lace and net, with long sleeves coming to a point over her hand. The full skirt of satin with lace insets in the front and sides, fell into a long train. She wore a rhinestone necklace with matching earrings. Her fingertip veil of nylon illusion edged in lace was fastened to a coronet of lace. She carried a bouquet of sweetheart roses, calla lilies and lilies of the valley. The center of the bouquet was formed into a corsage, which seh wore on her going away suit of orchid rayon.

Miss Evelyn Noah, Milwaukee, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Miss Arvilla Noah, another sister, and Velva Jean Karlen, Stanley, sister of the groom, as bridesmaids, wore identically styled dresses of yellow, Nile green and light orchid, with fitted bodices and boleros trimmed in lace. The underskirts were of taffeta and the overskirts of net. These gowns were made by the bride's mother. The attendants carried far shaped bouquets of glads, mums, snapdragons and carnations with ribbons to match.

Corrine Liebzeit, cousin of the bride, as flower girl, wore a colonial dress of taffeta. The bodice was of yellow taffeta with yellow net bolero trimmed in lace. The skirt was made of tiers of yellow, green and orchid taffeta. She wore lilies of the valley in her hair and carried a white crocheted basket trimmed in orchid, yellow and green ribbon, which held lilies of the valley and bleeding heart.

Bruce Liebzeit, another cousin of the bride, as ring bearer, was dressed in a white suit with a navy bow tie. The rings were tied with satin ribbon to a pillow of satin covered with lace and edged with satin ribbon ruffles.

Hubert Noah, brother of the bride, was best man. Verlan Noah, another brother, and Jerry Lee Karlen, Stanley, were the other attendants. The groom and his attendants wore white dinner jackets and shirts with black trousers, bow ties and shoes.

Allen Braun, cousin of the bride, and Clyde Karlen, brother of the groom, were ushers.

Music was furnished by Mrs. Alvin Albert. Larry Vollrath sang, "I Love Your Truly" before the ceremony and "The Wedding Prayer" during the service.

A wedding dinner was served at 3:30 p.m. in the church parlors to about 225 guests. The parlors were decorated with orchid, green and yellow crepe paper streamers and white bells. A large wedding cake served as a centerpiece on the bridal table. Lighted candles and flowers decorated the other tables.

A reception was held at the home o fthe bride's parents following the dinner, and a wedding dance was held in the evening at the Stanley Auditorium.

The bride's mother wore a navy blue dress of rayon butcher linen and lace with a corsage of red roses. The groom's mother wore a pink crepe and lace dress with a corsage of pink and white carnations.

The bride is a graduate of the Greenwood High School with the class of 1950 and the Stevens Point State Teachers College. The past years she has been engaged in teaching at the Eaton Center School at Greenwood.

The groom is a graduate of the Stanley High School and attended River Falls State College.

After a two week trip through northern Wisconsin, they will reside on the groom's farm at Stanley.
