Vieth, Barbara Lu (Marriage - 18 December 1971)

Miss Barbara Lu Vieth and Paul Gene Rasmussen were married Saturday, December 18, at 2 p.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen. The Rev. George Becker officiated at the double-ring ceremony. A reception was held in the church parlors. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Vieth of Madison. Mr. and Mrs. Kristian Rasmussen of Withee are the groom’s parents.

For her marriage, the bride chose a white satin gown styled with Victorian sleeves and trimmed with lace and seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of pink carnations and red roses as she was given in marriage by her father.

Sandy Smith was the bride’s honor attendant. Bridesmaid was Helen Missling. Both wore empire-waist gowns of emerald velvet with white lace bodices, and carried nosegays of red and pink carnations.

Steve Rasmussen served as bestman. Groomsman was Mike Nordlof. Jim Vieth of Madison and Joe Rasmussen were ushers.

Cristie Beimel of Madison, sister of the bride, was the flowergirl.

Music was played by Brad Gilbertson. Jim Herrick was the soloist.

The newlyweds will make their home in Owen, where the bride is employed. The groom is an employee of a Spencer firm.
