Andrew Wasylko, age 90, of Gilman, formerly of Lublin, passed away at the Gilman Care Center on Wednesday, February 5, 2014. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2014, at Holy Assumption Orthodox church in Lublin. Rev. Ted Wojcik officiated and burial followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Tom Wojcik, Gordy Palms, Greg Rosiejka, Gerald Rosiejka, Mike Wasylko and Tyler Person. Visitation was held at the church, on Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.

Andrew Wasylko was born on December 13, 1923, in Kenneburg, PA, the son of John and Pearl (Kliscz) Wasylko. In October 1925, his family moved to rural Lublin, WI, where Andrew was raised and educated. He was united in marriage to Delores Galarowicz on July 13, 1963. Together they farmed in the Town of Roosevelt until retiring in 1989. Delores passed away on April 6, 1995. After retirement, Andrew remained active on the farm until suffering a stroke in September 2011. He then entered the Gilman Care Center and has resided there until the time of his death.

Andrew loved farming, doing field work, cutting wood, and working with his son, Andy, driving around the countryside picking up cattle. He also enjoyed getting together with his siblings every hunting season and Thanksgiving holiday.

He is survived by one son, Andy (Lisa) Wasylko of Lublin; one daughter, Pam Wasylko of Antigo; three grandchildren: Jessica Riphenburg, Tyler Person, and Mike Wasylko; one great-granddaughter, Eden Riphenburg; two brothers; Joe Wasylko of Addison, IL, Frank (Mary) Wasylko of Rocky River, OH; two sisters: Ann Rosiejka of Rockton, IL, Mary (Jeff) Green of Dresden, TN; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, and his faithful dog, “Mutzer.”

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Delores; and two brothers: John and Steve Wasylko.
