Galetka, Nancy Lynn (Marriage - 7 August 1971)

Miss Nancy Lynn Galetka and Brian Jon Schell, both of Madison, were married Saturday, August 7, at 12 o’clock noon in St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Neillsville. The Rev. Charles Brady officiated at the double-ring ceremony uniting the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Galetka of Rt. 1 Neillsville, and the son of Mrs. Goodwin Schell of Hillsboro and the late Mr. Schell.

The nuptial Mass was sung by the adult choir of St. Mary’s. Organist was Mrs. Glenn Short. Soloists were Mrs. Robert Barth and Mrs. Gene Ross.

For her marriage, the bride chose a white satin, empire-style gown fashioned with lace inserts, long, lace sleeves, and a scalloped lace neckline. Her head was covered by a chapel-length, lace-edged mantilla veil. She carried a cascade bouquet of yellow roses and white carnations as she was given in marriage by her father.

Mrs. Dan Shoman of Madison was the maid of honor. The bride’s sister, Miss Susan Galetka, was her other attendant. Both wore mint green gowns styled with short, puffed sleeves and ribbon encircled empire waistlines. They carried bouquets of yellow daisies.

The groom’s attendants were Dan Shoman, bestman, and Mike Roney. Both are of Madison. Ushers were Gene Sauer, Madison, brother-in-law of the groom and Bill Fleischmann, uncle of the bride.

An afternoon reception honoring the newlyweds was held at the American Legion Hall, where a dance followed in the evening.

The new Mr. and Mrs. Schell are making their home in Madison. The bride, a 1969 graduate of Neillsville High School, attended Madison Business College and is employed as a court reporter in Madison. The groom, who graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1965, is also employed in Madison.
