Buker, Orlando Chester #2 (26 OCT 1900 - 17 JUL1942)

This community was greatly shocked and saddened Saturday morning when it was reported that Orlando (Rub) Buker had passed away suddenly the evening before (Friday, July 17, 1942) at 11 o’clock at Wood River near Medford, where he had been trout fishing. The cause of his death was a heart attack.

Orland Chester Buker was born on October 26, 1900 at Greenwood, Wisconsin and attended school here graduating with the class of 1919. Later he attended State Normal School at Stevens Point for one year after which he spent 16 years in the musical profession at various places in the United States.

On August 16, 1932 he was united in marriage to Mary Ann Rogillio and to this union were born four children, Edward Gregory, Donna Mae and John Scott. One child passed away in infancy.

In 1938 Rug as he was known to all, opened the Coast-to-Coast Store here which he operated ever since.

With his pleasing personality he made many friends everywhere who regret his early death.

He is survived by his wife and the above named children, his father Edward Buker and one brother Arthur C. Buker.

Funeral services were held from the A.C. Buker home Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock with Rev. P.H. Franzmeier of the West Side Reformed Church officiating. He was laid to rest in the Greenwood Cemetery.
