Heeg, Irene E. (Arends) (23 MAR 1923 - 17 JAN 2014)

Irene E. Heeg, 90, Marshfield, died on Friday, January 17, 2014 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Hewitt, with Rev. Barnabas Kyea officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery and grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. The visitation will be held on Monday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rembs Funeral Home and on Tuesday from 9:30 am until service time at St. Michael's Church.

Irene was born on March 23, 1923 in Colby to Andrew and Anna (Knier) Arends and was a graduate of Colby High School. She married Lawrence E. "Bud" Heeg on June 22, 1944 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Colby. He died on January 2, 1998.

The Heeg's lived in Hewitt until 1978 when they moved to the Town of Richfield where they farmed and Irene resided there until the present time. Irene had worked at the post offices in Auburndale and Hewitt.

She is survived by 3 sons and a daughter, 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Her children are Kenneth (Shirley) Heeg of Marshfield and their children, Brian (Sandee) Heeg and their son Tyler, Todd (Wendy Brugh) Heeg and his daughter, Katelyn, Vickie Heeg, Keith (Kim) Heeg, and Aaron (Jenni) Heeg and their children, Alex and Ava; Thomas (Ruth) Heeg of Hortonville and their children, Jeff (Sara) Heeg and their children Riley and Lily, Sarah (Shawn) Krause and their children, Jake and Katie, Michael (Crystal) Heeg and their children, Kolby and Caroline; Mary Jo Newmier of Marshfield and her children, Brenda (Chris) Breu and their children, Cody and Kyler, Kevin (Terri) Newmier and their children, Sydney and Jack and Brad Newmier; Steve Heeg and his children, Emily, Mindy and her son Preston and Jill.

She is further survived by a brother, Walter "Fritz" Arends of Watertown and 4 sisters-in-law, Geroleen "Geri" (Joseph) Burr of Marshfield, Elaine Heeg of Elkhart, IN, Melda Heeg of Dixon, IL, and Lucille Arends of Milwaukee.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, a son-in-law, Steve Newmier, 2 sisters and 4 brothers.
