Welsh Elizabeth (30 OCT 1833 - 15 DEC 1934)

Mrs. Elizabeth Welsh, 101, the oldest woman resident in Clark County, Wis., passed away at her farm home Saturday afternoon. A stroke suffered ten days ago was the cause of her death.

She was born in New York state on Oct. 30, 1833 and came to Dodge County, Wis. With her parents when she was 12 years of age. In 1851 she was married to William Welsh. They came to Clark County in 1863, settling on a wild farm a mile and a half northeast of Loyal.

Mr. Welsh passed away in 1915 and since that time Mrs. Welsh, with the help of her son George, operated the farm.

Fourteen children were born to this union, most of whom are still living. She is also survived by 45 grandchildren and 125 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the home at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, Rev. A. N. Chapman officiating. Burial was made in Pine Grove Cemetery.
