Morien, Joseph Herman (11 February 1922 - 14 February 1972)

Joseph Herman Morien, age 50, of Rt. 1 Owen, died February 14 of an apparent heart attack at his home.

Mr. Morien was born February 11, 1922, to Mr. and Mrs. Anton Morien at Ringle. He was married September 23, 1949, in Chicago to Mabel Bell White. They lived in the Chicago area until 1558, when they moved to Withee. In 1959 they settled on a farm in the Town of Longwood, where they lived ever since.

Survivors are his wife; two daughters, Deborah Mae and Patricia Jean at home; two sons, Airman Joseph W. Morien at Lowry AFB, Co, and A1/c Robert G. Morien at Minot AFB, Minot, N. D.; his mother, Mrs. Augusta Marks of Ontonagon, Mi; four brothers, Anton of of Hadley, Oscar of Wausau, William of Stratford and Leonard of Pulaski; and three sisters, Mrs. William (Leona) T’niema of Ontonagon, Mi; Mrs. O. H. (Elaine) Lampinen of Atlantic Mine, Mi; and Mrs. Arthur (Phyllis) Tapani of Chassell, Mi.

Funeral services were held Friday from Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Greenwood. The Rev. David Wenger officiated and burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers were all nephews: David, La Verne, Kenneth, and Elroy Morien, Daniel Marks and William T’niema. Mrs. Donald Missling and Mrs. William Karlen sang, “Rock of Ages” and the congregation sang, “I Know that MY Redeemer Lives,” accompanied on the organ by Berdelle Nielsen.

Morien, Minot AFB, Minot, N, D.; Mrs. Augusta Marks, Mr. and Mrs. William T’niema, Mr, and Mrs. Galen Dougherty and George White, Ontonagon, Mi; Mrs. Arthur Tapani, Chassell, Mi; Mr. and Mrs. Anton Morien, Hatley; Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Morien, Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. William Morien, Stratford; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Morien, Pulaski; Mrs. O.H. Lampinen, Atlantic Mine, Mi; Mr. and Mrs. La Verne Morien and family and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Morien of Kenosha; Mrs. Lewis Smith, Mrs. Walter Carlton and Mrs. Charles Kullman. Green Bay; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Pier of Joliet, Il. (Looks some may be missing.)
