Grant, Jerome V. (14 FEB 1913 - 13 APR 2014)

Jerome V. Grant, 101, Medford, died on Sunday, April 13 at Memorial Nursing and Rehab Center in Medford, where he had resided the past 4-1/2 years. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 16 at 11 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford, with Father Gerard Willger and Deacon Joseph Stefancin officiating.

Interment will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Medford. Pallbearers are Justin, James and Shawn Grant, Brian, Jeffrey and Stephanie Fuchs, Kristy Schesel, Scott Oberley, and Alan and Todd Stuessy.

Visitation will be held at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford on Wednesday, from 9 to 10:45 a.m.
Jerome Grant was born on February 14, 1913 in the Town of Little Black to the late Bernard "Ben" and Elizabeth (Schaeffer) Grant. He attended Holy Rosary Catholic School in Medford.

On May 6, 1939 in Medford, he married Irene M. Kleiber, who preceded him in death on April 15, 1984. He worked for the Heil Company in Milwaukee until moving to Crivitz where he worked in the CCC Camps. He then returned to the Medford area where he owned and operated a dairy farm in the Town of Little Black. He also worked at the Medford Co-op Feed Mill, then at Sturdy Craft Company, which was bought out by Marathon Cheese Company, until his retirement at the age of 66.

He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and past member of Knights of Columbus of the Holy Rosary Parish. He enjoyed fishing, carpentry work, traveling, and watching the Packers, Brewers, Lawrence Welk and westerns.

Survivors include seven children, Michael (Ilene) Grant, Elizabeth (Gerald) Stuessy and Donald (Barbara) Grant, all of Medford, Robert (Linda) Grant of Franklin, Bernadette (Ronald) Oberley of Westboro, John (Mary) Grant of Weston and Rita (Peter) Fuchs of Rib Lake; a brother, Alvin Grant of Milwaukee; a daughter-in-law, Debra Grant of Medford; 21 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Edward Grant; five brothers, Joseph, Bernard, Leo, Nick and Leonard Grant; and two sisters, Marie Shutton and Agnes in infancy.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to his family to be designated at a later date.
