Walter Leschuk underwent an appendectomy at the Stanley hospital last week.

Mr. Wasyl Ustianowski has been released from the Stanley hospital.

Mr. Mike Pirus underwent surgery at the Chippewa hospital recently.

Mrs. Ted Popowski was released from the Chippewa hospital this past week.

Mr. Paul Gac arrived home last Friday from Madison where he had been visiting.

The village has installed a system of new street lights.

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Reyzer spent last Sunday afternoon at Eau Claire where Mr. Reyzer participated in the men’s State Bowling tournament as a member of the Thor Gas Team.

An ice fishing contest will be held at Diamond Lake next Sunday, sponsored by the St. Stanislaus Church.

Scoutmaster Ed Budrus announced that the following Boy Scouts have received their Tenderfoot badge on Wednesday evening: Gregory Lencz, Donald Andruskiewicz, James Penk, Frank Dus, Jr., and Wayne Budrus.

Mr. and Mrs. David Lazarz of Minneapolis visited with Mrs. Mary Budrus, Marcella, and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Budrus on Sunday.

Scoutmaster Wm. Dmytro and Ed Budrus would like all parents to see the window display by the Scouts at the Lencz Hardware, at Lublin, and the Bellinger store at Bellinger.

A Christening dinner was held Sunday at the Malin Konieczny home in honor of the son Gary Joseph. Proxy sponsors were Mr. and Mrs. George Burzynski Jr., for Mr. Ted Wojtas of Chicago and Mrs. Bill Green of Chicago who were unable to attend. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. George Burzynski Jr. and Ginger, Mr. Frank Bonczyk, Mrs. Josephine Burzynski and Mitchell, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Burzynski and Joseph Weber, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Konieczny, Mr. Clarence Schmidt and Gail Burzynski of Beloit.

Mrs. Eunice Jacques and Mrs. Harry Juls spent Thursday at the William Jacques home.

Miss Ruth Kaczor attended the wedding of friends on Saturday in Stevens Point.

Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Wincek of Route 2, Stanley are the proud parents of a baby girl born on January 25. The little miss weighed 7 pounds 8 oz. She was named Lori Lynn Wincek. The proud grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Mack Wincek of Route 2, Thorp and Mr. and Mrs. Steve Jaks of Route 2, Thorp.

Mr. and Mrs. William Jacques and daughter Kim and Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Burzynski and son David spent the weekend visiting relatives in Chicago.

Mrs. Dave Weinberger, Mrs. Layton Asselin, and Mrs. Joe Turenne spent last Tuesday afternoon with Mrs. Louis Kaczor.

Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Roesler visited Mrs. Alma Johnson at South Worden on Saturday afternoon and evening.

Friday evening supper guests at the Bernard Burzynski home in honor of Mrs. Burzynski’s birthday were: Mr. and Mrs. Frank Winiarczyk and Cheryl and Bobby; Mr. and Eugene Raciborski, Cindy and Eugie; and Mrs. Ray Rogalski of Withee.

Mrs. Dave Weinberger, Miss Emily Quelle and Mrs. Frank Steward spent Sunday afternoon with Mrs. Louis Kaczor.

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Symbol of Chicago and Mr. and Mrs. Wally Symbol of St. Paul spent the weekend here at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Deutschlander.

Mr. and Mrs. Layton Asselin spent the weekend in Antigo with Mr. and Mrs. Neal Deyo and family.

Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Stelter and daughter Windy visited Tuesday afternoon at Louis Pagel.

Mr. and Mrs. Julius Klapatauskas and Karen visited at the Henry Deutschlander home on Monday afternoon.

Sunday dinner guests at the Mary Pagel home were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bohn and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Pagel Sr.

Mr. and Mrs. Leon Grajkowski and family of New Berlin, Wis. spent the week at the F. Gostomski home.

Mr. and Leon Kudingo were callers at Eau Claire on Thursday evening.

Callers at the Steven Danielewicz home the past week were: Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Baldeschwiler; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bohn; Mr. Stanley Fortek and Mrs. Louis Pagel.

Mr. and Mrs. Louis Pagel, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bohn were dinner guests Sunday at Miss Mary Pagel.

Mr. and Mrs. Garfield Piwoni of Athens, Wis. visited Mr. and Mrs. John Deutschlander on Monday afternoon.

A 5 lb., 8 oz. baby boy was born to Mr. and Mrs. Norman Seidling of Chippewa Falls on Wednesday, February 9th. His name will be Mark Allen. The grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Delton Ebben.

Mrs. John Glenicki and Mrs. Kate Schofield of Marshfield visited with Mrs. Frank Gostomski Saturday.

Tiny Badzinski and Bill Butek spent Monday fishing at Lake Chetek.

Mrs. T. Bauernfiend and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Grabon spent Saturday afternoon with Sister Mary Florence at St. Mary’s hospital in Ladysmith.

Mrs. Theron Pagel and sons were callers at Louis Pagel Thursday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Grabon visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Klieforth at Abbotsford and they visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Chuck Klieforth and family at Neillsville on Sunday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. Hames Ulinal of Minneapolis visited with her mother Mrs. Julia Jasinski Saturday.

Mrs. Alex Badzinski and daughter Diane attended a wedding at Osseo on Saturday.

Florence and Kate Hilbo, Mary Pagel and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bohn attended the graveside services at Black River cemetery for Mrs. Harry Courte of Milwaukee on Wednesday afternoon. Others who attended were Mr. and Mrs. Leo Tobola of Chippewa Fallas; Mr. Solck from the University of Eau Claire; Hubert Behling of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Frank Behling of Milwaukee, Mrs. Peter Mertens and daughter Mrs. Miller of Withee; and Mrs. Frank Zazoba.

Miss Sandra Ciolkosz spent Sunday with Diane Badzinski of Minneapolis, who is spending the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alex Badzinski.

Mr. and Mrs. Ig Przyblski accompanied by Mrs. Robert J. Przyblski and daughters Lisa and Laurie attended the wedding of their granddaughter Miss Constance Judrychowski, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Judrychowski of Berwyn, Ill., to Mr. Joseph Massey of Chicago, Ill. on Saturday, February 12th. The marriage vows were solemnized at an 11:00 o’clock ceremony at the St. Francis of Rome Church, Cicero, Ill. by Rev. Francis Przybylski of Plover, Wis., uncle of the bride. The reception and dinner was held at Chateau-Royale.

Mr. and Mrs. Emil Deutschlander spent Wednesday evening at the Leon Kudingo home.

Frank Stroinski of Chicago is spending some time with his sister Mrs. Josephine Wehlacz and other relatives.

Miss Marcie Badzinski of Eau Claire spent the weekend at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Badzinski.

Mr. and Mrs. Louis Pagel called at Mrs. Mary Biddle Thursday.

Mrs. Frank Stewart visited at the Irene Kaczor home and at the Dave Weinberger home on Sunday.

Patricia Lato of Pittsville and Robert Lato of Wausau spent the weekend with their parents here.

Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Stasczuk and boys of Eau Claire visited at the Alex Badzinski home on Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bohn visited at Louis Pagel Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Arvid Larson and Jim of St. Paul were weekend guests at the Frank Winiarczyk home.

Rita Schreier of Boyd was visitor at the Bruno Lato home on Friday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. George Miller and Micky of Eau Claire were Friday evening guests at the Bernard Burzynski home.

A large crowd attended the housewarming part on Sunday afternoon at the Kazmier Kmieciak home in the city.

Mr. and Mrs. Pat Soderberg and Mrs. Arthur Soderberg visited Sister Mary Patrick at Ladysmith on Saturday.

Mrs. Ed Moucha from Cadott and Mrs. Earl Melville and son from Chippewa were Friday visitors at Mrs. Meta Seaman.

Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Micke, Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. W.G. Vanderhyden returned home after touring the southern states. On Jan. 15th, Mr. and Mrs. Micke flew to Tampa, Florida where they were met by Mr. and Mrs. Vanderhyden and Mrs. Leon Haynes. They spent some time visiting at the home of Mrs. Haynes. They also visited with Mr. and Mrs. Ray Gengler at Lakeland, Mr. and Mrs. John Geving at Mary Esther, Florida, and from there they went to New Orleans. At Houston, Texas, they visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kosierocki and Mr. and Mrs. Vince Culbert at El Paso, Texas. They spent some time with Mr. and Mrs. Newell Qualle and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Qualle at Mesa and Phoenix, Arizona, and Mrs. James McDormitt at Jumarica, Iowa. They also visited other points of interest along the way.

Miss Karen DeMuth and Joanne Milewski of Eau Claire College spent the weekend at the Mike Milewski home.
