Halama, Elizabeth L. (6 AUG 1966)

Before an altar decorated with orange and white galdioli, Miss Elizabeth Lou Halama, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Aloysie Halama, Independence, Wis., became the bride of Mr. Roger Allen Hedrington; son of Mrs. John Hedrington, 302 Herbert St., Chippewa Falls, Wis., and the late Mr. John Hedrington. The Very Rev. Edmund Klimek performed the double ring ceremony August 6th, 1966 at 10:30 a.m. at S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence, Wis.. Mrs. Regina Reinhold was the organist for the senior choir. Ed Lyga sang "Mather, At Thy Feet we're Kneeling," as the bride placed a bouquet of flowers at the Blessed Mother's Altar. Billy Andre, Jimmy Smieja, Tommy and Billy Winberg served mass.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attended by her sister, Mrs. Marjorie Sygulla, Minneapolis, as matron of honor; Mrs. Viola White, Chippewa Falls, as brides matron; and Miss Marie Halama, cousin of the bride, as bridesmaid.

The bride chose Irish embroidered eyelet for her bridal gown, which she designed and made her self. The gown featured a scalloped neckline which dipped into a shallow V, short shirred sleeves, and a fully gathered floor length skirt with a scalloped hemline. The detachable train made of poie de soie was set off by a large bow and satin rolled roses. The bride selected a sequin covered pillbox to held her nylon bouffant veil in place. Her bouquet consisted of a white satin wedding ring filled with philnopsis orchids and ivy.

The attendants' dresses also made by the bride, were of colorful gingham. Mrs. Sygulla wearing green and white, Miss Halama wearing tan and white, and Mrs. White wearing orange and white. Their street length dresses had a simple round neckline featuring a square back, short shirred sleeves and a full gathered skirt. Colored rickrack to match the gingham finished the sleeve edge, neckline and hemline. A self-covered belt with a fringed bow enhanced the waistline. Their headpieces consisted of beige whimseys topped with colored flowers to match the dresses. Bone accessories completed their outfits. Their bouquets were of yellow daisies and ivy within a widker ring.

Nancy Buccini, daughter of Commander and Mrs. J.E. Puccini Jr., East Greenwich, Rhode Island, and cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Her dress, also made by the bride, was of yellow and white gingham. It featured a lace trimmed Peter Pan collard, puffed sleeves, and a full gathered skirt with tucks and lace. Her headpiece was a simple yellow band topped with a wreath of brown and yellow flowers. She carried a basket of white daisies and ivy.

Attending the groom were David Deniger, Eau Claire, as best man, and Larry White and Don Girard, both of Chippewa Falls, as groomsmen. All are friends of the groom.

Joel Hedrington, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Hedrington, Chippewa Falls, and nephew of the groom, was ring bearer. He carried a white satin covered football.

Ushers were Ronald and Richard Halama, brother of the bride, and Steve and Mike Hedrington, newphews of the groom.

The bride's mother wore a beige embroidered organza sheath dress with orange and green accessories. The groom's mother wore a light blue two-piece dress of embossed crepe with white accessories. Both had corsages of cymbidium orchids.

Following the ceremony a reception and dinner for 500 was held at Club 93. Cooks were Mrs. Cliff Sosalla, Mrs. Eli Marsolek, Mrs. Anna Marsolek, Mrs. Joe Sura, Mrs. Frances Pampuch, and Mrs. John Kuka. Waitresses were Judy and Kathy McGillis, Susie, Chirpie and Pattie Hedrington, all nieces of the groom, and Bonnie and Barbara Kulig and Helen Jean Drungstviet, cousins of the bride. Theresa and Cathy Halama, cousins of the bride, cut the wedding cake, which was made by Mrs. Broney Manka. All wore aprons made of gingham covered with organdy and trimmed with rickrack.

The guests book was attended by Joanne Halama, sister of the bride, and Martha Halama, cousin of the bride. Gifts were opened by Mrs. Evelyn Deninger, Mrs. Violet Sylla and Mrs. Carol Boie.

After a week long wedding trip to Canada, the couple will live at Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), where both are employed by the Thorp Public Schools. The bride, a graduate of Independence High School and of Stout State University, will teach Home Economics and the groom, a graduate of Chippewa Falls Senior High School and of Eau Claire State University, will teach World History and Physical Education. He will also resume his position as head football coach there.
