Kaiser, Elaine M. (17 MAY 1943 - 24 APR 2014)

Elaine M. Kaiser, 70, Hudson, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2014, at United Hospital in St. Paul, Minn., surrounded by her husband, Harold Lawrence Kaiser, and three sons, Leonard Joseph, Michael David, and Daniel Robert Kaiser. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m., on Monday, April 28, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Hudson. Rev. John Gerritts officiated. Interment took place in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were Pat Kaiser, Rodney Mayer, Jeff Mayer, Randy Kaiser, Jerry Wolfe and Ryan Mayer.

Elaine Mayer was born on May 17, 1943, in Humbird, the daughter of Joseph and Rosella (nee Brandstedter) Mayer. She attended Humbird Elementary and graduated from Alma Center High School with the class of 1961. Elaine and Harold Kaiser were married on Sept. 1, 1962, at the Fairview Catholic Church. Elaine worked in various clerical positions with St. Patrick’s Catholic School, Edina Reality, Hudson Hospital and Hudson YMCA with significant contributions to the community throughout her life. She enjoyed the challenge of golfing as well as bridge, doing both in the company of friends and family in locations that dreams are made of. She was a meticulous planner and had a gracious heart for others. She organized the Kaiser family reunion -- “Kaiser Kamp Out” -- for 29 years, proudly planned a very special 50th wedding celebration for her and Harold, and was always planning gifts for her children and grandchildren well in advance. Elaine lovingly took the time to record family genealogy and keep in touch with family afar, including her German ancestry that remains in close communication today. She loved and cherished her time with her family, especially enjoying their weekends at the cabin in New Auburn on Lower Long Lake and attending her grandchildren's various sporting events. Elaine and Harold were fortunate to share many travels together -- some of their favorite trips being to Paris, Rome, Germany and their three years living in Puerto Rico. They were also blessed to have spent 18 years wintering together at the Villages in Florida. Above all, Elaine had a very deep faith and remembered others in her prayers each day. She will be dearly missed by all who know and love her.

Elaine will remain in the hearts of Harold; sons, Len (special friend Chris) Kaiser, River Falls, Mike (Angie) Kaiser, River Falls, and Dan (Tana) Kaiser, Plano, Texas; 10 grandchildren, Brittany, Landon, Jordan, Alexa, Cole, Austin, Mariah, Shaun, Dillon and Logan; three brothers, Paul Mayer, Lowell, Ind., Vern (Margaret) Mayer, Neillsville, and David Mayer, Fall Creek; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters-in-law, Connie Mayer and Mary Mayer.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Patrick’s Catholic School. Donations in memory of Elaine can be made online at https://stpatrickofhudson.weshareonline.org/MemorialsorBequests.

Arrangements were entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson.
