Kapfhamer, Evelyn B. (Zirngibl) (15 SEP 1917 - 25 MAY 2014)

Evelyn B. Kapfhamer, 96, Medford, died on Sunday, May 25 at Our House Assisted Living in Medford, where she had resided the past two years.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 29 at 11 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford, with Father Gerard Willger and Deacon Joe Stefancin officiating. Interment will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Medford. Pallbearers are her nephews, David and Glenn Goessl, Mark Wacek, Bill and Robert Kuchenbecker and Bill Zirngibl.

Visitation will be held Hemer Funeral Homes of Medford and Rib Lake assisted the family with arrangements.

The former Evelyn Zirngibl was born on September 15, 1917 in the town of Little Black to the late Mike and Mary Frances (Koestner) Zirngibl. She attended Little White School in the town of Little Black. She worked as a housekeeper in the Chicago, Ill., area.

On July 16, 1940 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford, she married Albert J. Kapfhamer, who preceded her in death on March 4, 1971. She worked as a cook and baker at Holy Rosary School for 30 years until her retirement in 1994.

She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She enjoyed music.

Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Ann Ruddell of Hancock, Mich.; two sisters, Rita Kuchenbecker of Neillsville and Marilyn (Ernie) Haug of Brookfield; and three grandchildren, Mike Kapfhamer, Kelly Kratohwil and David Kapfhamer.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Kapfhamer in 1988; five brothers, Ray, Henry, Elmer, Leo and Donald Zirngibl; and two sisters, Irene Metz and Anna Schumacher.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Holy Rosary Catholic School.
