Steiner, Mr. and Mrs. Jack ( 1918 -04 Aug 1968)

Mr. and Mrs. Jack Steiner observed their 50th anniversary Sunday, Aug. 4 with an open house in their home. Decorating the buffet table was a large bouquet of roses with several gifts in gold motif of chinaware. Mrs. Steiner wore an gold orchid corsage.

Both were born in Dodge County, Wisconsin, Mr. Steiner in the Lomira area on October 7, 1894 and Mrs. Steiner, nee Alice Cowles in the Leroy area on February 5, 1899. They came to Loyal January 14, 1927, where Mr. Steiner became co-publisher of the Loyal Tribune with his brother-in-law, Lawrence Cowles, who had been owner for two years. They sold the Loyal Tribune in October 1951. Mrs. Steiner was a teacher fir a total of eleven years, the last five being in Spencer, where she taught home economics in the high school. Both have been retired for several years.

Their son, Roger, wife Kay and two sons, David and Andrew, came from Newark, Delaware for the occasion and a visit. Roger is an assistant professor at the University of Delaware, where he teaches French.

Relatives from away who attended were Mr. Steiner' three sisters Mrs. Sylvia Tolkan, Merrilian; Mr, and Mrs. Fred (Mildred) Scharf, and Mrs. Joseph (Bernice) Kuncl, Lomira; Robert Scharf, Lomira; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Bently, Fond du Lac; Mr. and Mrs. Tom Steiner, and daughters, Tammy and Tracey, Menomonie Falls; Dave Steiner, Park Falls; and local members of the family present were Mr. and Mrs. Claude Steiner and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Cowles.
