Schmidt, Mr./Mrs. Hermiss ( Silver - 19 OCT 1966)

Mr. and Mrs. Hermiss Schmidt celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary, Saturday, Oct. 29th at St. Bernard's Church, with Father Brockman officiating at 8 o'clock mass of thanksgiving. The school choir sang hymns.

Their two daughters, Romona of Eau Claire and Irene of Minneapolis, were present.

Anna Herman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Herman, town of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), and Hermiss Schmidt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schmidt, town of Worden (Clark Co.), were married at St. Hedwig's Church Wednesday, Oct. 19th, 1941 at 10 o'clock in the morning. Father Kulig read the marriage vows and mass.

The maid of honor was Eleanore (Herman) Krynski of Chicago. The witnesses were Mayme Milligan and Rubin Schmidt., Jeanne (Schmidt) Grajkowski and Marion Herman, Mr. and Mrs. James Boylan, Mr. and Mrs. George Schmidt, who were all present with their spouse for a dinner at St. Hedwig's Parish Hall. Serving began at 5:30 to a hundred guest reception following until midnight.

A mock marriage was performed at 9:30. The judge, Cliff Ebben, who did a rightful job of marrying bride, Rich Boie, wearing a long formal and veil with cauliflower bouquet. Groom, Audrey Vanderhyden, with Wally Szemraj as the bride's Father, even a crooked shot gun. Luellyn Schmidt as best man and Junior Vanderhyden as as bridesmaid. This was enjoyed by all, after which lunch was served to about two hundred guests.

Out of town guests were from Oak Lawn, Ill., Milwaukee, Sun Prairie, Park Falls, Mayville, Withee, Stanley, Gilman, Abbotsford, Somerset and Medford, Wis., Hastings and St. Paul, Minn.
