Allan Jarocki, Rt. 1, Thorp (Clark Co), Wis., will represent the Thorp Lions Club as its entry in Lions International's $50,000 Peace Essay Contest.

Allan Jarocki won the right from entries submitted to enter the District level of judging enroute to the Grand Prize.

The total of $50,000 in awards will be made, including a first prize of $25,000 in educational and/or career assistance grant, eight semi-finalist awards of $1,000, and travel expenses to Chicago, Ill. For those semi-finalists in July 1967. At that time, the first prize winner will be chosen from the eight. Also, more than 20,000 local, district and multiple district awards will be made.

His essay was selected by a panel of three judges: Henry G. Anderson, Rev. Francis Brockman and Corwin C. Guell.

If Allan Jarocki succeeds in District 27-C's contest, his essay will be judged in the Multiple District contest and will have an opportunity to be judge at the World Division Level.

Allan's essay will be judged, with the other club winners in District 27-C, by March 1, 1967.

As winner, he will receive a $50.00 Series E Bond from the Thorp Lions Club, along with a Certificate from Lions Inaternational, to be presented Jan. 28th at the 10 Annual Lions Talent Show here.
