Miss Jean Meredith Pruett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel M. Pruett of Vienna, Virginia were married September 14 to Jerry Ray Kauffman of Alexandria, Virginia.

The Reverend Horace C. Lukens performed the candlelight double-ring ceremony in Vienna Presbyterian Church. The sanctuary was decorated with baskets of white gladioli, snapdragons, and pom poms, palms, two floor candelabra holding white tapers and white tapers and ivy in the windows.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a traditional floor length gown of white satin. The front panel of the skirt, and the bodice with it's full length pointed sleeves were of alencon lace. The chapel length train of satin had appliques of the same lace. Her chapel length veil of white silk illusion was fastened to a headpiece of satin roses and leaves -- pointed with seed pearls. She carried a cascade of a cascade of White orchid, stephanotis, and foliage.

Miss Nancy Pruett served as her sister's maid of honor. She wore an empire waistline, floor length gown of sapphire blue satin and lace and carried a cascade of yellow sunbursts. Miss Kathy Kauffman, of Rectortown, niece of the groom, and Mrs. Gary Lyman of Alexandria were the bridesmaids. They wore gowns that were duplicates of the maid of honor's and carried nosegays of yellow starbursts. Miss Marian Pruett, sister of the bride was the flower girl and wore a floor length gown of sapphire blue satin, and carried a small fireside basket filled with yellow starbursts and petals.

Mr. Gary Lyman of Alexandria was best man. Ushers were Stefan Pruett, brother of the bride and Douglas and John Arnold, of East Mckeesport, Pa. and Michael Kauffman of Rectortown, nephews of the groom, Lorin Pruett, brother of the bride served as junior ushers.

Charles Potter provided organ music for the ceremony and accompanied Richard Hill, uncle of the bride, who sang "Ave Maria" and "The Lord's Prater."

Following the ceremony a reception, held in the fellowship hall of the church, was served by the women of the church.

The bride is a graduate of James Madison High School, Vienna and Benjamin Franklin University in Washington D.C. She is an accountant with the C.P.A. firm of Evans, Rosenthal and Co. of Rosalyn. The groom graduated from George Washington High School, Alexandria and Columbia Technical School in Washington, D. C. He is a draftman with TMC System and Power Co. located in Springfield. The groom s formerly of Wisconsin.

Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Kauffman and Mr. and Mrs . C. L. Kauffman and Dr. and Mrs. H. R. Arnold entertained about 35 guests at a buffet dinner after the rehearsal at the church the evening before the wedding.
