Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 13, at Zion Lutheran church, Colby, for Louis F. Frome, Colby.  The Rev. David Pankow officiated, and burial was in the Colby Memorial cemetery.  Lulloff Funeral Home handled funeral arrangements.

Mr. Frome died Sunday morning, April 10, at the Neillsville Memorial hospital, where he had been a patient for the past two weeks.  He was 87 years old.

Born Dec. 30, 1878, in Sheboygan county, Louis Frederick Frome moved to Clark county with his parents when he was six years old.  They settled on a farm in the town of Colby where Mr. Frome spent the rest of his life.  His marriage to Hattie Radke took place Nov. 27, 1902.  She preceded him in death in 1949.  Mr. Frome took over his parent’s farm and was active in farming until 1948 when he retired and moved to the city of Colby.  He served for 25 years as clerk of Colby township and for 30 years as clerk of the rural school district.  He also worked as manager of the Bee Line Equity Shipping association and was a charter member and director of the Security State Bank.  He was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran church, Colby.

Surviving are three sons, Fred of Little Marias, Minn., Willard of Marshfield, and Wesley of Colby; two daughters, Mrs. Carl (Verna) Elstrom, Colby, and Mrs. Joe (Norma) Schall of Sussex; 14 grand children and 20 great grand children, and one sister, Mrs. John (Ida) Tesmer, Colby.  He was preceded in death by his wife, three brothers and one sister.
