Greenwood (10 August 1972)

The Senior Citizens of Greenwood will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, August 17, at the Clark Electric Auditorium. Hostesses will be Mrs. Emma Hium, Mrs. Clara Gray and Mrs. Clara Metcalf. Norman Liebzeit will show pictures taken in Alaska.

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Szpanski left Sunday for Alaska, where he has accepted a teaching position. Mrs. Szpanski is the former Joan Dyre, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Godfrey Dyre of Greenwood. She and her husband had been residing in Glenwood City.

The United Methodist women will meet Friday at 2 p.m. at the church. The program will be in charge of Mrs. Viv Carteron. Hostesses are Mrs. Carteron and Mrs. Leota Murphy.

Members of the United Youth Fellowship will be in charge of the morning worship service at 9:20 a.m. Sunday in the Immanuel United Church of Christ.

The circles of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church will meet as follows: Naomi, 1:30 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Carl Turnquist today (Thursday); Esther at 1:30 p.m. today at the home of the Misses Nelda and Helen Windom.

Mr. and Mrs. David Danielson and John D. Wuethrich attended the Swiss picnic Sunday at the fairgrounds at Rice Lake. They were joined there by Mrs. Danielson’s brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Erling Nelson, and daughter, Karen, of Spooner.

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Kaisler of Waukesha spent from Friday until Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Severson.

Mr. and Mrs. Gary Indgjer and family of Janesville visited Friday with his aunt, Mrs. Louis Ellingson.

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Damm of La Jolla, Ca, visited Mrs. Palmer Vinger Thursday.

Dinner guests Sunday at the Harlan Brux home were Mr. and Mrs. Mike Kowieski and granddaughter, Kathy, of Auburndale.

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Mathes and son Jim of Wauwatosa who are spending a week at their cottage at Mead Lake, were Sunday evening guests of at the John Kaltinger home.
