Holbrook, Barbara J. (Marriage - 9 September 1972)

Miss Barbara J. Holbrook and Donald E. Quicker were married Saturday, September 9, at 4:30 p.m. in a double-ring ceremony performed at the Neillsville United Church of Christ by the Rev. Gary Clark. A reception at the Wildcat Inn was attended by 200 guests.

The former Miss Holbrook, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Holbrook of Chili, was presented in marriage by her father. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Quicker of Neillsville.

The bride’s entrained gown of rayon organza over taffeta was styled with bodice and long, puffed sleeves of venise lace. A ribbed organza flounce edged the skirt and chapel train. Her bouffant veil fell from a headpiece of venise lace. White daisies with pink roses made up the bridal bouquet.

Verna Quicker was the bride’s honor attendant; bridesmaid was Marilyn Meissner. Their empire-style gowns of light pink nylon over taffeta were accented with white sleeves and ribbon. They carried arrangements of white daisies with pink lace.

Sanford Smith, Granton, served as bestman. Groomsman was Steve Mabie of Medford. Sharing ushering duties were Dale Holbrook, Chili, and Jerry Quicker. South Milwaukee. Soloist Ellis Wall was accompanied by Mrs. Jess W. Scott.

The bride, who graduated from Granton High School, is employed in Neillsville. Her husband, a graduate of Neillsville High School and of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, is self-employed as a certified public accountant.
