Anason, Nettie Mildred (4 September 1913 - 9 July 2014)

Nettie Mildred (Fry) Anason went to be with her Father in Heaven Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at the age of 100 years 10 months.

She was born Sept. 4, 1913, in Richland Center, to Barnabas and Susan (Clary) Fry. She farmed with her parents until she met and married Maynard Anason Feb. 18, 1933, at which time they farmed in new Lisbon for eight years. They then bought and moved to a farm about two and one-half miles southeast of Neillsville in 1941, where they lived until 1990 when they bought a home in Neillsville. Nettie also worked at Neillsville Memorial Hospital for 33 years as a ward clerk.

Nettie and Maynard did a lot of traveling in the U. S. and Canada; she also enjoyed crocheting, quilting, sewing, embroidering, canning and baking.

Nettie is survived by her two sons, Lamoine (Carol) Anason of Neillsville and Oliver (Elizabeth) Anason of Janesville; 11 grandchildren, Charlene (Jon) Siebert, Cheryl (Ivan) Alf, Larry (Kay) Anason, Deon (Dean) Brennan, Lisa (Jim) Lauer, Donna (Gary ) Erickson, Gary Anason, Kevin (Connie) Anason, Dawn Anason, Kathy (Gary) Reither; 30 great-grand-children; 13 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, June Johnston and Emily Allen; two sisters-in-law, Beverly Fry and May Fray; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Nettie was preceded in death by her parents, Barnabas and Susan (Clary) Fry; her husband, Maynard; a sister, Opal Green; three brothers, Donald Fry, Clinton Fry and Ervin Fry; a sister-in-law, Evelyn (Anason) Fry; a granddaughter-in-law, Lynette (Kurasz) Anason; and brothers-in-law, Gordon Johnston and Ed Green.

Funeral services for Nettie were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville. Pastor Timothy Biebert officiated. Music was provided by Judy Trunkel, organist. Interment was in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Casketbearers were: Kevin Anason, Larry Anason, Gary Anason, Randy Anason, Chad Erickson and Ryan Anason.
