Dietel, Katherine (19 NOV 1896 – 23 JUN 1969)

Mrs. Katherine Dietel, a lifelong resident of the town of Spencer, died Monday evening at St. Joseph's Hospital, in Marshfield. She was 72 years of age.

Funeral services will be held in Christ the King Catholic Church, Spencer on Thursday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Andrew Bofankamp, pastor, officiating at the Mass of Requiem. Burial will be made in Gate of Heaver Cemetery in Marshfield.

A rosary service was conducted at the Jasperson Funeral HomeWednesday evening.

The former Katherine Weis was born in Spencer township on Nov. 19, 1896 and was married at St. John's Catholic Church in Marshfield on July 5, 1915 to John Dietel, who preceded her in death in 1964. Since her marriage she had resided on the same farm on Spencer, Routr 1.

She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church of Spencer and its Christian Mothers Society.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Waldo (Margaret) Kath, Spencer; five sons, William. Boulder Junction; Edward, Mosinee; George, Marshfield; Joseph. Spencer; and Arnold at home; 20 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Henry Schmidt, Capron, Ill.; Mrs. T. M. Welsh and Mrs. Frank Hardinger, Marshfield; and two brothers, Andrew and Tony Wels, both of Spencer.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by two sons and one brother.
