------ Kieser, Majorie Ellen (23 JUL 1966)

After a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin the new Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Gehring will be at home at 246½ S. Franklin, Mondovi.

The marriage of Miss Majorie Ellen Kieser, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gottlieb Kieser of Abbotsford, and Lynn Knute Gehring, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Gehring of Eleva, took place Saturday, July 23, at 2:30 p.m. at Christ Lutheran church, Abbotsford. The Rev. F. H. Sprengler heard their exchange of promises before the altar adorned with bouquets of yellow gladiolus and white mums.

The Rev. Quintin Quade of Napoleon, N. Dak., was organist for the wedding of his sister-in-law. Mrs. Steven Palchik of Eau Claire sang “O Perfect Love” and “The Lord’s Prayer”.

The bride chose her sister, Mrs. Warren (Muriel) Puhl of Minneapolis to be her matron of honor. Her bridesmaids were Miss Anne Gehring of Eleva, sister of the groom, Miss Dorothy Becherer of Eau Claire and Miss Laura Enos of Minneapolis, friends.

Three cousins of the groom and a friend were in his party. Stanley Lebakken of Minneapolis was best man, Peter Berg of Strum, Duane Berg of Eau Claire and Allen Schultz of Eleva were groomsmen.

For her wedding the bride chose a floor length oriental sheath of sheer organza over taffeta. Venice lace trimmed the elbow length sleeves and the waist line. Appliques of lace highlighted the detachable chapel length train that swept from the waist line. A bouffant veil of pure silk illusion billowed from a queen crown of imported crystals. She carried a white orchid with stephanotis.

Her attendants carried crescent shaped bouquets of yellow carnations to complement their mint green floor length dresses of sheer organza over taffeta. Venice lace detailed the elbow length sleeves and the waistlines. Highlighting the dome skirt was a detachable back panel topped by a rose centered on petals. Pearls adorned their crowns holding sheer veils.

Festivities of the wedding day included a reception at the Abbotsford city hall and dinner at the church parlors.

The bride is a 1961 graduate of the Abbotsford high school and a 1965 graduate of the Wisconsin state university, Eau Claire, where she was a member of the Gamma Sigma Sorority and the Delta Phi honor society. She will teach at Mondovi high school.

Her husband, a 1960 graduate of Eleva-Strum central high school, will complete his studies at the Wisconsin state university.
Guests at the wedding came from Eleva, Strum, Milwaukee, Merrill, Neillsville, Melrose, Athens, Eau Claire, Bloomer, Dorchester, Colby, New Auburn, Jim Falls, Abbotsford, Iowa, North Dakota, California, Illinois, Massachusetts and Minnesota.
