Higgins, Delores E. (Fischer) (29 JUL 1929 - 25 AUG 2014)

Delores E. Higgins, 85, Medford, died on Monday, Aug. 25 at her home, with her family by her side. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, Aug. 28 at 11 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford, with Father Gerard Willger officiating.

Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home of Abbotsford assisted the family with arrangements.

The former Delores Fischer was born on July 29, 1929 in Marathon City to the late Peter and Agnes (Lemmer) Fischer. She attended Medford High School.

On May 8, 1947 in Waukesha, she married Glenn Higgins, who preceded her in death on February 17, 2014. They returned to Medford and farmed in the town of Molitor until their retirement.

She enjoyed fishing, gardening, flowers, gambling, playing cards, shaking dice, dancing, watching birds, and especially her family.

Survivors include nine children, Constance (Wayne) Wagner of Withee, Dan (Kathy) Higgins, Darrell (Val) Higgins, Bruce (Pam) Higgins, Kathy (Dale Euclid) Higgins, Robin (Paul) Schmidt, Marty Higgins (Tanya), and Steve Fisher and family, all of Medford, and Julie (Mark) Tyznik of Colby; three sisters, Angeline Patton and Elaine Piller, both of Medford, and Mary Ann (Lloyd) Kearly of Markison; a brother, David Fischer of San Antonio, Texas; 33 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin; a sister, Alice Fischer; three sisters-in-law, Genevieve Gengler, Caroline Butler and Marie Nelson; and seven brothers-in-law, Eugene Gengler, Wilfred Butler, Conrad Nelson, Matthew Gentler, Calvin Hein, Rick Patton and Harold Piller.
