(IN MEMORY OF MR. BORGERS)

He has gone, our father left us,
Left this world of pain and Strife;
He has gone and left us weeping,
Gone where we all must go;
In the graveyard he is sleeping, Cruel death has laid him low.
Oh, the master that has bereaved us,
From our sweet and earthly bliss;
Our father has gone and left us,
For a better world than this.
Oh, how lonely, Oh, how lonely
Is the stricken mother's heart;
Jesus now and Jesus only
Can a ray of hope impart.
Many long years they salied together,
On a sea to them unknown;
But the last gale he could not weather,
Left them for to sail alone.
Through the mist I see her peering,
While her little bark she guides,
O'er the foaming bellows steering
And her children by her side.
But I think while she is sailing
O'er life's ocean, night and day,
I can her his kind voice saying,
"Dearest wife, come this way.
Bring the children when you're coming."
