Smart, Diane (12 June 1969)

Miss Diane Dorothy Smart, Colby, and Thomas Raymond LaBarge, Loyal, exchanged wedding vows on Saturday, July 12 at a 1 p.m.ceremony at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Colby. The Rev. Father John Olson officiated.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Raymond LaBarge, Loyal; and Mrs. Florence Smart, Colby and the late Donald Smart.

Michael Tucker played the organ and Kevin Mack sang, both are from Loyal. Bouquets of mixed flowers adorned the altar.

The bride choose a white chantilly lace bodice gown with scalloped pearl and sequin trimmed neckline, long pointed sleeves. The bouffant organza skirt had front tiers of lace with detachable chapel train.. Her headpiece consisted of a star of organza trimmed in pearls and sequins and was attached to 3 tier bouffant veil. She carried a heart shaped bouquet of red roses and white mums. Mrs. Barb Davel, Milwaukee was the matron of honor; Mrs. Gerrie Bower, Chicago, Miss Jackie LaBarge, Loyal and Miss Diane Bender, Colby were the bridesmaids.

The aides were seen in blue voile gowns with white daisy designs. Their flowers were topiary ball with white mums.

Miniature bride, was Lisa LaBarge, sister of the groom and miniature groom was Terry Smart, nephew of the bride.

James Loos, Loyal, was the best man; Gerald LaBarge, Loyal, Donald Smart, Sheboygan, and Peter Davel, Milwaukee, were the groomsmen.

Ushering the guests were Tim LaBarge and Steve Rogstad.

Wedding day events included a reception at the city hall in Colby; dinner at St. Mary's Gym and a dance at Colby Park. Dinner was served to over 200 friends and relatives.

The new matron is a senior at Stout State University, Menomonie, and the groom is a junior at Whitewater State University, Whitewater.

The couple will reside at 419 E. Milwaukee St. Fort Atkinson.
