Kolpack, Esther J. (Laska) Stencil (19 FEB 1924 - 31 OCT 2014)

Esther J. Kolpack, 90, Wausau, died Friday, Oct. 31, 2014, surrounded by her family, under the care of Asceracare Hospice at Applegate Terrace, Wausau.

She was born February 19, 1924, in Bevent, daughter of the late Joseph and Martha (Gabor) Laska.

On November 7, 1942, she married Lawrence Stencil at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, Bevent. He preceded her in death on June 14, 1979. On June 13, 1986, she married Clifford Kolpack at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. He preceded her in death on July 7, 2012.

Lawrence and Esther lived most of their married life in Edgar area and farmed in the town of Rietbrock. Esther was a homemaker and an active member of the St. Rita Group, PCCW of St. John Catholic Church, a volunteer at St. John's Library and a member of the Homemakers Club. She enjoyed playing cards, especially sheephead, traveling, spending time at her lake home, and most of all, she cherished time spent with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Carol (Ray) Glatch, Hartland, Conale (Kenneth) Krebsbach, Edgar, Larry (Gail) Stencil, Luck, and Jayne (Dennis) Strasser, Edgar; grandchildren, Christopher Glatch, Jason (Shannon) Strasser, Brandon Stencil and Jennifer (Sidney Jr.) Brubacher; great-grandchildren, Romeo Brubacher, Hannah and Ava Strasser; step-children, Terry (Sue) Kolpack, Maryville, Tenn., and Bryce (Elaine) Kolpack, Edgar; sisters, Lucy (Alfred) Kleman, Milwaukee, Agnes (Stanley) Czudec, Stevens Point, Ceil (Ronald) Gorski, Plymouth, Marian (Philip) Chereck, Bevent, and Annette (Charles) Gilbert, Fairborn, Ohio; brother, Richard (Lillian) Laska, Bevent; and many other relatives and friends.

Besides her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by brothers, Roman, Stanley, Tony, Chester, Ervin, Hubert and Joseph Laska Jr.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 7, 2014, at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. Rev. Robert Streveler will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar and again on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a 7:30 p.m. rosary service on Thursday at the Edgar funeral home.
