Funeral services were conducted Wednesday morning at St. Mary’s Catholic church at Colby for Mrs. Edmund Becker, 79, who died at her home Saturday, May 27, following a heart attack.

The Rev. John B. Pinion, pastor of St. Mary’s officiated at the services and burial was made in St. Mary’s cemetery. The Christian Mothers society said a rosary Monday evening and a general rosary service was held Tuesday evening.

The Lulloff Funeral Home of Colby was in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Becker was born Emma Mary Cramer in Dunn county, Wisconsin, on December 22, 1887. She received her education in Menomonie schools and was married to Edmund Becker October 12, 1909, at Menomonie.

The couple farmed in that area until 1920 when they moved to rural Colby. They continued farming in this vicinity until 1956, when they retired and moved to the present family home in Colby.

She is survived by her husband; a son, Wilbur Becker of Colby; and four daughters, Mrs. Herb (Regina) Martin of Marshfield, Mrs. Beauford (Margaret) Apfel of Marshfield, Mrs. Norbert (Lucille) Donnermeyer of Kaukauna and Mrs. Emil (Mary) Fleischauer of Stevens Point. There are 26 grand children and three great grand children.

Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Lavern (Susan) Govin of Menomonie and Sister M. Joan of Guttenberg, Ia.

She was preceded in death by a son, Donald, who died in 1956, and eight sisters.
