Grap Ana Marie (Marriage - 18 May 1973)

St. Paul’s University Chapel, Madison, was the setting May 18 for the marriage of Miss Ana Mari Grap and Duane Eugene Schaper. The bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Grap, Greenwood, escorted their daughter to the altar where Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Schaper, West Salem, presented their son. Rev. Father Nilles officiated.

The bride selected a Camelot style gown of imported polyganza fashioned with a bodice of venise lace, a high-rise tapered collar, full Edwardian sleeves and a flowing skirt. Her Camelot style cap trimmed in venise lace held an elbow-length veil of imported illusion. She carried pink roses with baby’s breath.

Miss Mary Jo Verschay, Greenwood, a cousin of the bride, was her only attendant. Her gown of pink Dacron sheer was of Juliet styling with empire bodice, high ruffled short sleeves. Her flowers were white roses and baby’s breath.

Dean Schaper, West Salem, was his brother’s bestman. Both attendants gave readings during the ceremony, which was planned by the young couple.

Following a reception after the ceremony, the new Mr. and Mrs. Schaper, with their parents, attended the honors convocation at the Wisconsin Field House.

The groom was a member of Delta Theta Sigma at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and received his Bachelor’s degree in animal science and business administration. His bride received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing at the University of Wisconsin also. They attended her honors pinning ceremony Saturday.

On Sunday a reception was held at the Amber Inn at Loyal, after which the honored couple left on a honeymoon through the eastern states and Canada. They will live in Eau Claire. He has accepted a position with a Chippewa Falls firm.
