The Thrift Stamp drive is on now. Let everyone attend to this duty for we must win this war.

Jason Bostwick, Bernice and Gertrude Davey, Mrs. Davey, Mrs. George Gemmeke and Mrs. Bostwick autoed to Ben Stanley’s Sunday evening.

A. Thorson and A. Lenher have joined the home guards at Greenwood. We are now sure of good protection by these gentlemen.

Mr. and Mrs. Susa received a letter from their son, Albert, from the training camp. He is well and enjoying himself with a 20-mile hike each day. Happy-go-lucky Albert says that some of the boys have blisters on their feet, but he states that there are no blisters on his feet. Good for Albert.

H. Bostwick was greatly surprised Wednesday afternoon when an old schoolmate from Granton called on him. They had not met for 40 years.

Joe Zilk was calling on his patrons Wednesday afternoon in our vicinity.

Mr. Podobnik will soon have the basement of his barn done.
