Mabie, Robert "Bob" J. (8 AUG 1944 - 8 DEC 2014)

Robert "Bob" J. Mabie, age 70, of Medford, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 8 2014, at his home while surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Hope Hospice.

He was born in Kennan on Aug. 8, 1944 to George and Dorothy (Minett) Mabie). He attended Kennan schools and graduated from Phillips High School. He enlisted in the United States Army and served his country from 1965 to 1967. When discharged, he moved to Bartonville, Ill. and began working at Keystone Steel and Wire.

Bob loved being around family and was known as U.B. to the nieces and nephews. In 1973, Bob married Jackie Peterson of Westboro, and they had two sons together. They later divorced. Bob retired in 2001 after 31-1/2 years at Keystone and moved back to Wisconsin to be with Jackie, his sons and grandkids. He loved to fish along the mill pond, walk five miles daily, enjoyed coffee at McDonald's, making people smile and talking to people.

Bob is lovingly survived by Jackie Mabie; sons, Bobby J. (Clover) Mabie and Christopher G. (Jessica) Mabie, both of Medford, and Brad (Alexandra) Peterson of Wausau; 10 grandchildren, Zek, Ambernette, Alex, Sebastian, Harley, Erik, Nicole, Brandy, Brent and Bianca. He is further survived by three sisters, Shirley Merrick of Milwaukee, Mary (Fred) Sewell of Bartonville and Helen (Don) Zimmerman of Westboro; two brothers, Jim (Barb) Mabie and Mike Mabie, both of Kennan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Tom (Phyllis) Mabie of Mayville and Rich (Darlene Blackwell) Mabie of Kennan.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be given to the family for future designation.

The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Dorchester assisted the family with funeral arrangements. Friends may send online condolences to www.maurinaschilling.com.
