Haas, William "Bill" O. Jr. (9 NOV 1926 - 2 JAN 2015)

William "Bill" O. Haas, Jr., age 88, of rural Unity, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2015 at Golden Living Center-Continental Manor in Abbotsford. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church in Colby. The Rev. Mark Neumann will officiate. Family and friends are welcome from 9:00 AM until time of service Tuesday at the church.

Bill was born on November 9, 1926, the son of William and Edna (Scheelk) Haas, Sr. in the Town of Deer Creek, Taylor County. He attended school at Deer Creek and moved to rural Unity. Bill was united in marriage to Marian Zimmer on April 23, 1955 in Albertville, MN. Together they farmed in the Town of Hull until retiring in 1995.

Bill enjoyed visiting with everyone, hunting, fishing, driving tractor, making firewood, taking country rides and stopping at machinery shops. He was especially known for making coffee can Christmas trees.

Bill is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marian; three children, Larry (Colleen) of Unity, Ron (Julie) of Marshfield and Nancy (Bill) Bellendorf of Rib Lake; seven grandchildren: Andy (Jami) Haas, Samantha (Tim) Jutsum, Ethan Haas, Jackie Block, Jayna Block, Terry Bellendorf and Ashley Bellendorf; one great-grandson, Ezra. He is further survived by brothers and sisters: George (Maxine) Haas, Elaine Schultz, Ella Huckbody, Doris (Bruce) Wussow and Irene (Jack) Smazal; a brother-in-law, Harold Baumgartner; a sister-in-law, Isabelle Haas; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers and sisters: Rose Skwarski, Helen Damrow, Elmer Haas, Arthur Haas and Myrtle Baumgartner.
