Manthey, Ruth F. (11 OCT 1921 – 10 JAN 2015)

Ruth F. Manthey (nee Butler), age 93 of Slinger, passed away in her home on Saturday, January 10, 2015, surrounded by her loving family.

Ruth was born on October 11, 1921, to Earl V. and Ottilia E. (nee Budde) Butler in Colby, Wisconsin. She was united in marriage to Ralph V. Manthey, "Bud" on June 12, 1973, in West Bend, Wisconsin. Ralph was employed at the Hartford WTKM (1540 AM) radio station for many years and together Ralph and Ruth made many life-long friends. Ruth was an inspector at Globe Union Industrial Corporation in Milwaukee for many years. She enjoyed sewing and quilting, oil painting, gardening, and took many classes to master her skills. Ruth also enjoyed volunteering, especially at the West Bend and Slinger libraries.

She is survived by her loving children, Joyce Connors of Sussex; Judith (Arthur) Smith of West Bend; Anne (Richard) Endres of Menomonee Falls; and Glenn (Karen) Korntved of Cottage Grove; loving stepdaughter, Jayne Doucette of Germantown; her dear brother, Joseph (Trudy) Butler; and her cherished friends, Sally Paulson and Minerva Bauer. She is further survived by many other dear relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her parents-in-law, Minnie and Perry Sexton; her beloved husband of 41 years, Ralph V. Manthey; her children, Mary Korntved and Jim Korntved; and former husband, Glenn Korntved.

A Memorial Service for Ruth will be held on Sunday, January 18, 2015 at 4:30 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home (824 Union Street, Hartford, Wisconsin 53027.) The family will greet relatives and friends on Sunday at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the 4:30 p.m. service. Additional visitation will continue after services.

Inurnment in Washington County Memorial Park in West Bend, Wisconsin at a later date.

Ruth's family would like to share their sincere gratitude to the nursing staff from Cedar Community Health and Home Hospice, especially RN's Rachel and Sarah, and Chaplain Bev Hansen for their loving care and support.
