Tim Zimmerman, son of Lois Zimmerman, 215 West Street, Loyal, has been named Best Student Choreographer by the student theatre arts organization at the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point.

He was chosen for recognition by the members of The Players, student drama group, for his participation in dance at UW-Stevens Point.

A 1975 graduate of Loyal High School, Zimmerman is a senior dance major at the University.

The class of 1959 of Loyal High School held their 20th reunion at the American Legion Hall in Loyal on Saturday, July 28, 1979. Forty-six class members were in attendance. Mrs. Marvelene Butterbrodt gave a tour of the school at 6 p.m., which was enjoyed by those participating.

Richard Meyer was emcee and the prayer was given by Vern Dahlby. Teachers in attendance as guests were Mrs. Maxine Hug, Miss Eileen Hopkins, Mr. J. R. Thomas, Mrs. Marvelene Butterbrodt and Vern Dahlby, also school secretary, Mrs. Clara Davel.

The 22nd annual reunion of the family of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mellenthin, Sr. was held at Powers Bluff Park, Arpin on July 29, 1979.

In charge of arrangement for the approximately 90 members who attended were Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Mellenthin, Unity, Mr. and Mrs. Danne Mellenthin, Colby, and Mr. and Mrs. Rodon Mellenthin, Colby.

Danne Mellenthin led the group in saying grace and giving thanks before the potluck dinner enjoyed by family members from Wisconsin, Illinois and Florida.

The business meeting was conducted by Danne Mellenthin. There were three marriages, nine births and one death in the past year. Mrs. Albert Schultz (Adelia), Spencer, died on June 4, 1979. A moment of silent prayer was observed.

On behalf of the family, a wreath was place on the graves of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mellenthin, Sr. at North Spencer Cemetery last Memorial Day aby a granddaughter, Mrs. Herman Luepke (Eleanor Mellenthin), Spencer.

Prizes were presented to Troy Batterton, Spencer, Amy Krause, Spencer, Jamie Kay Schultz, Spencer; Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Kraus, Clyman, and Leo Klein, Port Ritchie, Florida.

The committee appointed for next year’s reunion at Wildwood Park, Marshfield on July 27, 1980, is Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Mellenthin and their children – Mr. and Mrs. Warren Jacobitz, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Mellenthin, Mr. and Mrs. James Murphy, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Ausbourne, and Ronald and Debra Mellenthin.

Pvt. Faron L. McHone, son f Mrs. June McHone, Route 1, Granton, recently was his company’s high scorer on the physical proficiency test held at the end of his training cycle at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

The rigid test, based on skills that require coordination and endurance, is designed to evaluate a soldier’s physical capabilities and stamina needed in battle.

McHone entered the Army in May 1979.

He is a 1979 graduate of Granton High School. His father, Victor McHone, lives in Seward, Alaska.

Judith Seliskar, daughter of Mrs. Evelyn Seliskar and the late Philip Seliskar, received her Master’s Degree in psychology at commencement exercises held August 3, 1979 at UW-Stout, Menomonie.

A 1972 graduate of Greenwood High School, she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from UW-Eau Claire. This past semester she has been teaching at St. Patrick’s School in Eau Claire.

Beginning September 1, 1979 she will be employed as a student psychologist at Northern Colony, Chippewa Falls, and will also continue her studies at UW-Stout to attain her certification.

Her mother, Mrs. Philip Seliskar, and sister, Mary Ann, attended the commencement exercises.
