Vetterkind, Frances Elizabeth (Tiny) (14 January 1931 - 1 February 2015)

Frances E. (Tiny) Vetterkind, age 84, of Greenwood, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2015, at her home.

Frances Elizabeth Truse was born on January 14, 1931, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Charles Sr. and Gertrude (Osowski) Truse. As a young girl, her family moved to Thorp, WI, where she was raised and received her education at Goff School. Frances was united in marriage on April 12, 1954, to Holley E. Vetterkind at St. Hedwig’s Chapel in Thorp. They resided in the Town of Warner, rural Greenwood, where she worked as a cook for the Greenwood School District for 15 years.

She had many interests, but especially loved spending time with her family, was an awesome fisherwoman, love life, enjoyed her flowers, garden, baking, birds, canning, making blankets and quilts, crocheting afghans, and her specialty was making lap robes for the Veterans and Children’s Hospital.

Frances is survived by four sons: Michael (Carla) Vetterkind of Greenwood, Pat Vetterkind (Faye) of Stetsonville, Dave (Jane) Vetterkind of Homer, AK, and Dan Vetterkind of Greenwood; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Helen Benzschawel of Stanley; one brother, Robert Truse of Thorp; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Holley, on November 27, 2001; one daughter, Susan Armbrust on November 29, 1996; one granddaughter, Amy Vetterkind on January 1, 1979; and one brother, Charles Truse, Jr.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
