Godec, Gertrude B. (11 MAY 1911 – 16 NOV 1969)

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Marshfield, for Mrs. Joseph J. Godec, 58, who died of a heart ailment Sunday. She was taken to the Riverview Hospital in Wis. Rapids, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

The services were conducted by the Rev. Peter J. Leketas, pastor of the church, with burial taking place in Holy Family Cemetery at Willard (Clark Co., Wis.).

The former Gertrude B. Bayuk was born at Willard on May 11, 1911. She received her education there and was married to Joseph J. Godec, April 25, 1932 at Milwaukee. The couple made their home at Willard until 1949, when they moved to Marshfield. Mrs. Godec was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers Society and the K.S.K.G. Slovenian organization.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Shirley Genett, Milwaukee, Mrs. Carl (Elaine) Lobner, Wis. Rapids; two sons, Edward J. Godec, Neenah, and John Godec, at home; 11 grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Rudy Hollman, New Berlin, Wis., Mrs. Ignatz Cesnik, Tucson, Ariz., Mrs. Dora Fortuna, Willard, Mrs. Al Klinke, Greenwood; and five brothers, Edward, William and Joseph Bayuk, all of Willard, Grant Bayuk, Greenwood, and Albert Bayuk, Joliet, Ill.

One sister preceded her in death.
