Humbird (23 August 1973)

Mr. and Mrs. Tony Mihawk of Marshfield are spending a few days in the Hein cottage.

Mr. and Mrs. John Gausel of San Jose, Ca, have been spending a couple of weeks here visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Theiler and other relatives.

Mrs. Millie Trachsel and Mrs. William Theiler joined Mrs. Howard Pierce of Black River Falls Sunday afternoon for a tour of several homes in Black River Falls.

John Flynn of Coldwater, Fla., spent a few days visiting his mother, Lottie Flynn, and sister, Jean Collins, and Saturday night attended a class reunion at Castle Hill.

Col. Neil Hein of Chipato Park, Co., came Sunday afternoon to see his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Hein, and sister, Mrs. Beth Jeffrey, who is here helping to care for them.

Mrs. Phyllis Janke, accompanied by her mother, Mrs. Gladys Lightfoot, and Mrs. Melvin Walker, left Monday morning for California to visit Mrs. Lightfoot’s and Mrs. Walker’s sister, Hazel.

William Dignin, Jr., of Nova, Ohio, spent Thursday and Friday visiting at the Bernard Sieg home. He also had visited at the Gil Blom and Jim Blom homes in Price.

Mr. and Mrs. Rolla Sieg of Fairchild and Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Sieg, Jill and Jeff, drove to Baraboo Sunday, where they attended the World Circus Museum.

Mrs. Arnold Matti spent Sunday afternoon with Mrs. Freida Zerbel.

Mrs. Jane Weston and daughter of Wauwatosa are spending this week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alton Stollard.

Mr. and Mrs. Kurt Schlei of Green Bay and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Clouse of Loyal came Saturday afternoon to spend the weekend at the home of their sister, Mrs. Henry Laffe.

Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn Ness and family were weekend guests at the Hugh Terrell home. Satruday, Mr. and Mrs. Terrell and guests attended the wedding of Dale Terrell in Alma Center.

Fred Krosinski of Milwaukee called Sunday at the Chester Baily home.

Dale Terrell, one of our Humbird boys and Rose Esser, were married Saturday at the Catholic Church in Alma Center. Dale is still with the Navy and likes it very much.

Mr. and Mrs. Archie Kirby drove to Sebeka, Mn, on Saturday to attend a reunion of her family on Sunday. They returned home on Monday.

William F. Hein came home Friday from the hospital and is able to be around in his home. He will return to the hospital for a checkup sometime this week.

Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Hodge and two sons of Zion, Il., were guests of her aunt, Mrs. Emma Gerber, from Monday until Wednesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Carroll and children were guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Aeschbacher, from Thursday until Saturday. They were on their way to their home in Hombard, Il., from a vacation trip into Northern Wisconsin.

Guests Sunday afternoon at the Walter Durst home in Neillsville were Mrs. Emma Gerber and Art Christen.

Lisa Schmitz of Cadott is staying with her aunt, Mrs. Emma Gerber, while helping with the cucumber picking at the Kally Theiler farm.

Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Matti were in Alma Center Thursday to call on Claire Everson, who is just home from the Black River Falls Hospital.

Mr. and Mrs. Ed Holub of Neillsville, called at the Levi Fitzmaurice home last week.
