Washburn (23 August 1973)

Mr. and Mrs. John Reinart and sons, Wayne and Lee, returned home last week Monday night from a few days’ trip to Canada. They drove to Duluth and Superior and around north of Lake Superior to Sault Ste Marie. They also visited Mackinac Island and drove across the bridge between St. Ignace and mackinaw City, Mich. Their son Dale, and Jim Spiegel did their chores.

The Cannonville Ladies Aid met at the church Wednesday afternoon with six members in attendance. The next meeting will be entertained by Mrs. Irving Stevens at her home at 116 E. Division St., Neillsville, Wednesday, September 19, with dinner served at noon.

Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Feutz of Wisconsin Rapids were recent supper guests of his mother, Mrs. Chris Feutz. They spent the month of July with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Werner Ziefert, in San Diego, Calif., and visited many interesting places enroute. They also visited his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Feutz and family in Casper, Wy. They showed many interesting slide pictures they had taken on their trip.

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Thomson and family of Chicago spent last week and the weekend with her mother, Mrs. Ragnar Mortenson, and brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mortenson, and visited her father at Memorial Home. They attended the Rizner-Marg wedding at Granton Friday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rizner and family of Milwaukee spent the weekend at the Robert Mortenson home and also attended the Rizner-Marg wedding.

Mr. and Mrs. Ed Krueger and Jack Kapfer of Janesville spent the weekend with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Kapfer, and aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Kissling, and attended the Kissling-Montgomery wedding at Granton Saturday afternoon.

Mrs. Everett Pepper, Mrs. Betty Kapfer and daughter, Orrissa, and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Pepper, all of Janesville, spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Ernest killing and attended the Kissling-Montgomery wedding.

Dr. and Mrs. Ell ‘Skip’ Lee and family of Green Bay spent the weekend with her mother, Mrs. Harry Kissling, and brother, Ernest Kissling and family and attended the Kissling-Montgomery wedding Saturday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. Mickey Condron and family of Schaumburg, Il., spent a few days last week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Havlicek, Sr.

Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Spiegel and family of Stoughton spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Spiegel, and attended the Kissling-Montgomery wedding.

Mrs. Arnold Huth, Jr., took her youngest daughter to a Marshfield Hospital last week where she underwent surgery on her eye again.

Mr. and Mrs. Francis Jacobson of Sherwood, and Mr. and Mrs. George Gorbet, called Sunday evening at the Mrs. Art Odell home.

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Short were supper guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Art Short.

Mr. and Mrs. John Reinart and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Reinart, drove to Wind Lake, near Milwaukee, Satruday where they attended the wedding of Mr Reinart’s nephew, Paul Schultz, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Schultz. They returned home on Sunday.

Horace and Frosty Dehart and the latter’s daughter, Mrs. Rose Anderson, of Howard, Il., spent from Tuesday until Friday with Mrs. Art Odell. Mr. and Mrs. Sandy Dehart and Mrs. Merle Austin visited Thursday evening at the Odell home, also.

Roger Jelinek, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Jelinek, spent the weekend with his grandmother, Mrs. Wanda Pretsch. Mr. and Mrs. Jelinek and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Kyle spent the weekend at Wisconsin Dells.

Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Kapfer attended the senior citizens picnic and meeting at Granton Tuesday evening. They had their picnic at the park and meeting at the Granton Fire Station.

Charles Havlicek, Sr., went to Rhinelander recently and spent several days assisting with work at a camp where he was employed several summers.

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Short were supper guests Satruday of Mrs. Harold Elmendorf and granddaughter, Carrie Sexton, in honor of Carrie’s 13th birthday.

Barbara Wnuczynski of Eau Claire was a dinner guest Friday and spent the day with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Havlicek, Sr.

Mr. and Mrs. Art Short called Tuesday evening at the Ralph Short home.

Mr. and Mrs. Ed Dietz and granddaughter, Lisa Sentinel, of Butte, N.D., arrived last of the week for a visit with his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Kyle. Scott and Becky Kyle, children of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Kyle, also spent the weekend with their grandparents while their parents spend the weekend at Wisconsin Dells.

Mrs. Peter Misovy and family of Milwaukee arrived Sunday to spend this week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Kyle. Mr. Misovy brought his family to Mauston, where the Kyle’s met them. Mr. Misovy will spend next weekend at the Kyle home and his family will return home with him.
