After her husband’s death, she moved to Neillsville in February 1987. Milly attended Living Hope Church. She enjoyed singing and was a member of the Young at Heart Hymn Singers. Her love of music was expressed through substitute organ playing and 20 years of membership in the Sunshine Girls. She would accompany the group playing guitar, piano and autoharp. With her friend, Helen Dix, she sang songs at churches, Gilbertson Funeral Home, Owen Health Care Center and Marshfield and Bethel Convalescent Centers. She enjoyed singing duets with Elaine Peroshek, Carol Ayers and Marie Ratsch.

Throughout her life, she enjoyed writing songs and poems. She filled 79 notebooks with her musical poetry. Milly wrote songs in recognition of people’s birthdays, graduations and anniversaries. She also made greeting cards and sympathy cards. She wrote poems for special events and occasions (dome appeared in The Clark County Press).
