Lewin, Patricia Martha (Marriage - 1 September 1973)

Miss Patricia Martha Lewin and Richard John Bird were married Saturday, September 1, in a 1:30 p.m. ceremony performed at Christ Lutheran Church, Chili, by the Rev. Roland Roehrs. The Star Lodge Motel, Loyal, was the setting later for a reception and dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lewin, Sr., Rt. 2 Spencer, and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Bird, Rt. 1 Greenwood, are the couple’s parents.

Gowned in a sata peau trimmed with venise lace, the bride approached the altar on the arm of her father. Her venise lace profile tiara headpiece accented with pearl trim caught a fingertip veil. A colonial bridal bouquet included light pink carnations, white daisies, pompons and statice with white streamers.

Mrs. Ferris Watson, Greenwood, was the matron-of-honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Jo Ann Draxler, Marshfield, and Miss Barbara Bird, Greenwood. Their wine- colored gowns of sheer crepe styled with short, puff sleeves and yokes were accented by ivory lace trim. Baby’s breath and forget-me-nots formed their headpieces; they carried nosegays of pink carnations, ferns and pink streamers.

Fred Lewin, Jr., Spencer, acted as bestman. Groomsmen were Ferris Watson, Greenwood, and Gary Aga, Neillsville. Francis Herr of Greenwood and Bruce Englebretson, Loyal seated guests.

Mrs. Henry Grottke was the soloist and Miss Bonnie Meissner, the organist.

The bride was honored with a pre-nuptial shower with hostesses by Mrs. Francis Herr and Mrs. Ferris Watson.

A Loyal High School graduate, the new Mrs. Bird is employed in the data processing department of a Marshfield manufacturing company. Her husband, who graduated from Neillsville High School, is employed by a Spencer building firm.
